The US Lacrosse Widget powered by Lacrosse Magazine is a downloadable desktop widget that provides RSS news feeds from Lacrosse Magazine Online and has the ability to sort news by men’s and women’s lacrosse and by NCAA division, Major League Lacrosse and National League Lacrosse news. It also has RSS feeds with scores so you can keep tabs on your favorite teams. This is the first and only interactive widget dedicated to the sport of lacrosse that incorporates news and video game action.
What's a Widget?
This is version 1.0. The sport is evolving and so are we. Check back for updated versions of the US Lacrosse Widget powered by Lacrosse Magazine.
When clicking to download the Widget, you agree to the User Terms and Agreement.
| PC User instructions 1. Click on the Windows/PC link above to download the .zip file to your desktop. 2. Decompress the .zip file. This will give you an .exe application. 3. If the USL icon does not appear directly on your desktop, drag it from the folder onto your desktop. 3. To launch this desktop application, simply double click the icon. To add this program to your startup routine: 1. Click Start>Programs, then right click on Startup folder and choose Open. 2. On the Startup window, go to File menu and choose New>Shortcut. 3. In the dialog box click the Browse button to specify the USL program 4. After specifying the program path, click next and finish. Then you will see a new shortcut (computer icon) in the Startup folder. 5. Right click on that shortcut and choose Properties, select Minimized from the Run combo box, and click Ok, then close the Startup folder. 6. At the next time you start your computer the program will run automatically and you will see it in the system tray. PC System Requirements: This program is compatible with Windows XP SP2+ and Windows Vista SP1. For XP we recommend no less than 1GB of RAM. For Vista we recommend no less than 2GB. Game play is enhanced by more RAM, or an independent graphics card (128mb or better). Reducing resolution or window size may enhance performance. Mac User instructions 1. Click Mac link above to download the .zip file to your desktop. 2. Decompress the .zip file. This will give you a USL application (.app) icon on your desktop. 3. To launch the app, simply double click. 4. To add this application to your doc, simply drag and drop it in the position you wish. To add this program to your startup routine: 1. Go to System Preferences/Accounts and select the user. 2. Above the user name you will see a tab called Login Items, clicking the + sign at the bottom will open a browse window in which you can select the application. 3. The next time you start your computer this program will start up as well. Mac System Requirements: Recommended settings include running Mac OSX 10.5 with at least 1GB ram. This application will only run on Intel chipset Macs. Game play is enhanced by more RAM, or an independent graphics card (128mb or better). Reducing resolution or window size may enhance performance. |
The best part of the USL Widget is the built-in virtual Wall Ball game (see below). Click on "Wall Ball" and the game expands into a full screen virtual wall. Pick either the men’s or women’s 3-D stick to start the game. Use the mouse to throw and catch, while getting points for hitting targets on the wall. Save your score and play over and over.
